Hiyoko

Hiyoko is a Japanese restaurant in Mexico City (Cuauhtémoc); open Mon–Sat 18:30–01:00; closed Sun.

Edo Kobayashi Group Japanese spot in Colonia Cuauhtémoc - more casual sister to Kyo/Tatsugoro. Hiyoko, from the Edo Kobayashi Group, is Mexico's first restaurant dedicated exclusively to yakitori. In an intimate 12-seat space on Río Pánuco in Colonia Cuauhtémoc, organic chicken from Granja Kobayashi is grilled skewer by skewer over binchotan charcoal using the traditional sumiyaki technique. Menu highlights include chicken karaage, grilled onigiri, and yakitori beyond chicken like avocado and corn skewers, alongside sake and whisky. Reservations recommended given the small footprint.
